About

Growing up in the shadow of New Haven, Connecticut, Steve Yardan engaged in all the youthful outdoor activities, his adventurous spirit engaging in competitive swimming, snowboarding, skateboarding, lifeguarding for a few summers and surfing the Atlantic off Rhode Island, Cape Cod and New Hampshire. One of the surf culture expressions he’s always been fond of is, “Just Paddle Out (JPO)” – a sense of throwing caution to the wind and taking a chance with the next wave. After years of putting his musical passions on the back burner, “JPO” is the perfect metaphor for the release of “Buzzin’ Fly,” the emerging singer/guitarist’s Americana-steeped debut single that marks his first official venture as an indie artist.

The infectious, powerhouse track is a contemporary, jam-fired re-imagining of a semi-obscure cut from the 1969 album Happy Sad by famed 60’s-70’s folkie Tim Buckley, the father of the late great Jeff Buckley. Testament to Yardan’s expansive talent and well-established musical prowess, the session features a dynamic coterie of veteran musical talents.
